Robert Sapolsky has new book on free will.
He talks about it in Star Talk:
It had me thinking about the saying, "All models are wrong. Some models are useful."
I believe the apparent belief that people have judgement and choice, can often fall into the "wrong but useful" category. But the belief can be wrong and harmful, like with the fundamental attribution error.
I think that the internal locus of control is perhaps one way to differentiate helpful and harmful compatablism.
