I watched the Sopranos with my Dad tonight. Guess what? He finds this show as hilarious as I do.
And perhaps the worst is Carmela. She knew full well her husband was an evil man, and she had opportunities to flee, but she coped herself into believing he was a legitimate businessman being attacked by an unfair federal government. It was sad to see Meadow going on the path to becoming just like that toward the end of the series.
Yeah, in the beginning of the show it looks like Meadow might take a different path. Take this scene:And perhaps the worst is Carmela. The person that condones and benefits from the fruits of violence is really no better than the person committing it. She knew who her husband was and what life he was in. There were plenty of instances of her suspecting (knowing?) what happened to those in the family that went into “witness protection”. She was not a victim. People like her are enablers and vindicators of their husbands. “My husband is a legitimate Italian American businessman targeted by the corrupt FBI…” give me a break, this isn’t Skylar White.wild take lol, most of the characters on this show are literal murderers.
I mean we could make an argument that these women are being gaslighted and suffering some form of Stockholm syndrome but I just don’t see it. They like the life and the power it brings and they get the benefit of not even having to see or experience the dirtiest, most despicable work that buys them their privilege, jewelry and gaudy McMansionsYeah, in the beginning of the show it looks like Meadow might take a different path. But I remember I saw an episode from the last season, I think, with her fiance, and her attitude is wildly different. I remember another one where her fiance saw a guy engaging in oral sex with another man, and Tony whacked the guy because of that. I remember Tony talking in that episode about how he agreed with Rick Santorum, my old Senator. Because traditional values are important or something stupid like that, as though there aren't multiple commandments Tony has violated, lol.
Also, referring back to the dinner conversation you can pick up noodles with chopsticks really easily. It's not hard. You do not need a fork to eat noodles.
